Notes on Bulbing Onions: Onions are best planted from seed vs. bulbs. Start seed indoor in January so that bulb can mature around Summer Solstice time. Bulbs need long days to form. Start with Nitrogen fertilizer to get the greens growing vigorously, then cut back so bulb can form.
